Produced in 1934 the son of Ukrainian immigrants and Jewish faith, Pollack grew up in Indiana. He wished to be a physician but somehow after high school and his mother’s early death he joined Meisner to get trained as an actor and director. He helped Sanford Meisner in the Neighborhood Playhouse and went to Los Angeles in 1960 to be a dialogue trainer and writer for kids. Thus started his tryst with Hollywood.
