Patrick Roy started playing for the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s Granby Bisons. Subsequently, he was selected via NHL Entry Draft from the Montreal Canadiens in 1984. A year after, he debuted to play for the Canadiens’ affiliate, Sherbrooke Canadiens. He was traded to the Colorado Avalanche through the 1995 96 mid-season. Roy helped the team in winning Avalanche’s first Stanley Cup in 1996. Subsequently, he was the recipient of President’s Prize award in 2000-2001 season.
