Mike MacIntyre began his career while attending Vanderbilt as a free safety below the direction of his dad, George for two seasons. Subsequently, he transferred to Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets as defensive back. When he was at the University of Georgia, MacIntyre started his job as graduate assistant for the Georgia Bulldogs football team in 1990. MacIntyre got a place at Mississippi Ole Miss as a wide receiver coach, and defensive secondary coach in 1999. While with the Ole Miss, the team won the Independence Bowl in 1999 and 2002,as well as a runner up during the 2000 Music City Bowl. A year after, he was named as defensive coordinator for Duke Blue Devils. Subsequently, he was hired by the Colorado Buffaloes and became its 25th full time trainer for the team.
