He attended Lincoln High School, and promised he switched his name to Blanc in the age of sixteen. Blanc loved an nearly six-decade-long career as voice specialist from radio, films and television. He started with radio commercials, but is best recalled for his work with Warner Bros. Blanc afterwards worked for Hanna Barbera’s television productions, and provided the voices of Barney Rubble on The Flintstones and Mr. Spacely on The Jetsons. He also became a frequent performer on The Jack Benny Program, both in its radio and television arrangements. He was the first voice of Woody Woodpecker for Universal Pictures.
