Mei Lin grew up cooking as her dad owned a Chinese restaurant in Michigan Avenue. She’s Schoolcraft college grad. She’s worked at Michael Symon’s Roast Restaurant in the Westin Novel-Cadillac in Detroit. She’s won the Top Chef title Wednesday’s nighttime and cash prize of $125,000.
She says that her parents want her to be someone like physician or attorney but she wished to be chef and she wished to demonstrate that she choosed the correct career path for herself after winning the show.
