Lilia first entered school at Tufts University in Massachusetts with a major in pre-medicine. Lilia changed her major to economics and broadcast journalism and shifted her schools to the University of Miami. She graduated from your University of Miami in 2007. Lilia anchored and created a section for Telemundo Internacional on finance and economics. Once she graduated from school Lilia was hired by Univision Networks to act as a news correspondent in addition to the co-anchor on their evening newscast. Lilia began to work for MSNBC during December of 2010. Lilia was a welcomed addition to the staff and involved highly by her coworkers. She’d several important duties during both years she worked at MSNBC. Lilia was sent to cover Hurricane Irene and the damages that thunderstorm did in August of 2011. Lilia continued covering the trail of destruction the storm created as it moved through North Carolina. Lilia spent the summer of 2011 covering the Casey Anthony homicide trial which was held in Orlando Florida. Her sections were seen on MSNBC and on the Today Show. Lilia spent six weeks in Florida reporting in the Orange County courthouse. On July 17th she did a special midnight program denoting the fact that Casey Anthony had been released from prison. The duty that would cause Lilia to lose her place at MSNBC was the Trayvon Martin shooting. Lilia went to Samford Florida to cover the report. Although the misleading sound isn’t directly attributed on Lilia she’d to be fired because she was a part of the news team that created the report. MSNBC regrets having to fire the staff because of this event because it was a mistake, but errors of the nature cannot be allowed to occur and the news station had no option but remove the parties involved.
