James Marsters began his performing career in 1987, playing the part of Ferdinand in The Tempest. In 1990, he transferred to Seattle,and formed the New Mercury Theater. Marsters got a part on the television series of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, playing Spike.The character carried over to Buffy’s spinoff, Angel.
