Brandon has played at theParade All-American Team, EA Sports Roundball Classic Roll, as well as the McDonald’s All-America Game. After graduation, he joined the Louisiana State Fighting Tigers. He was named SEC Freshman of the Year. During his stint with all the Tigers, he made a mean of 15.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.8 blocks, and 34.3 minutes per game. Bass chose to forego his last two years in faculty and declared his eligibility for NBA Draft, instead. Bass was chosen as the second round, 33rd overall pick by the New Orleans Hornets during the 2005 NBA Draft. After spending two seasons with all the Hornets, he moved to other teams such as Dallas Mavericks, Orlando Magic, Boston Celtics, and Los Angeles Lakers.
