Barbara Windsor is an English actress. Barbara Windsor got her first movie part in The Belles of St Trinian’s in 1954. She joined Joan Littlewood’s Theater Workshopat the Theater Royal, Stratford East. She appeared in several stage productions, including Fings Ain’t Wot They Used to Be and Littlewood’s 1963 film Sparrers Can Not Sing, for which she earned a BAFTA nomination for Best British Film Celebrity. In 1980, Windsor played the part of Saucy Nancy to the next chain of the ITV children’s show Worzel Gummidge. She got a part in the Carry On… series, starting with Carry On Spying in 1964. Her last Carry On… part was in Carry On Dick in 1974. She spent time on Broadway in the Theater Workshop’s “Oh, What a Lovely War!” she received a 1965 Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Performer in a Musical. Windsor played the part of music hall star Marie Lloyd in the musical-biopic Sing A Rude Song. Windsor joined East Enders in 1994, taking on the part of Peggy Mitchell. She’s married to Scott Mitchell.
