Produced Alan Wolf Arkin on March 26, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY, USA, the family moved to Los Angeles when he was 11. He was fond of music and performing from a young age. At ten, he took various performing courses and became a scholarship student at distinct play schools. Arkin attended Los Angeles City College and Bennington College. He formed the folk music group The Tarriers with two of his buddies, where he sang and played the guitar. He was the co-composer of the group’s 1956 hit song The Banana Boat Song, which reached #4 to the Billboard magazine chart. Alan Arkin fought as a young performer and played bit parts on television and on stage. Since that time, he’s proceeded to appear in television, movie and on stage. With the last two movies, he was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor, winning for the former.
