Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje Net Worth, Biography & Wiki 2017

Those who’ve viewed the epic TV Show “OZ” cannot forget the terrible, wicked and infamous character “Simon Adebisi” and likewise in “Lost” one cannot forget the character “Mr. Eko”. When he was a baby, around only a month old, he was given to some white working class family in Tilbury. Since he couldn’t talk their ethnic language Yoruba and English had not been permitted within their home he felt disconnected. After several months, he returned to Tilbury. Akinnuoye Agbaje had a troubled life as a teen. He was unable to instantly adapt to the English lifestyle after he returned from Nigeria. At the tender age of fifteen he’d turned into a violent robber. Seeing this, his foster parents accepted him to a Boarding school in Surrey. But things got worse since he attempted to commit suicide. Nevertheless, that event changed him and he accepted his background. He began a brand new life which turned the tide in his favor. When he was studying in the university, he was used in a clothes shop. This store opened the doors of modeling for him. Eventually he got himself a character in Hollywood and his performing career kicked off with the film ‘Congo’ in the year 1995. He’s best remembered for his part as a black and wicked criminal Simon Adebisi in the TV Show OZ and Mr. Ekoon the superhit TV show Lost. Akinnuoye Agbaje is known for his films too. Be it his first part in “Congo” or the popular part of Nykwana Wombosi in the thriller film “Bourne Identity”. He could be also part of films like “The Mummy Returns” playing the part of Locknah. He was also seen in the Season 5 of the hit TV Show “Game of Thrones” in the part of Malko. The most recent film, of which he’s a part, is Suicide Squad, which will be releasing in 2016. He’s referred to as Triple A to his supporters. He’s active in the writing and direction of a film called Farming which is his own life story. It’s about showcasing the circumstances of Nigerian children who are given to British families as foster children. It describes the adversities a Nigerian had to face in Britain in the wake of the Second World War. He understands several languages such as Swahili, Yoruba, and Italian apart from English. His parents’ departure made him voluntarily stop the TV show “Lost” and returns to London. Based on the known sources he was never married and therefore there is not any question of wife, nor a girlfriend or never fathered any children. Akinnuoye Agbaje is having an estimated net worth of $3 Million.

Adewale Rotimi O. C. E. Akinnuoye Agbaje Interesting Facts

1Full name is pronounced like a-de-wall-e a-key-new-ye ag-ba-he.
2Appears in both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Cinematic Universe with roles in Thor: The Dark World and Suicide Squad.
3The woolly hat he wore as Simon Adebisi in ''Oz (1997-2003)'' was his idea and based on hats he'd seen gang members wear growing up in London.
4The name of his character, "Atticus" in the action adventure film Pompeii is similar to a role he played in the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea TV film, the name of whom was "Cabe Attucks".
5Had a successful career as a model in Milan and Paris, before pursuing acting.
6He is a Buddhist and admitted that he had to chant more than usual while playing the brutal character of "Majestic" in Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2005).
7He is fluent in several languages including Italian, Yoruba, Swahili, and (of course) English. He can "get along" in a few other languages, including French.
8The son of immigrants from Nigeria, he has played almost entirely African characters despite having been born and raised in England. He usually employs a deep, Nigerian timber while acting, while off-screen he has a very British, somewhat Cockney accent.
9He went from playing Ernie Hudson's good friend, the guide "Kahega" to Hudson's "Capt. Munro" in Congo (1995), to playing his enemy, the sociopath "Adebisi" to Hudson's hard-headed "Warden Glynn" in Oz (1997).
10Is perhaps best known for his role as the cunning, fierce super-criminal Adebisi on Oz (1997). Another role he is very much associated with is the enigmatic 'Mr. Eko' from Lost (2004), even though he played that role in only 28 of the series' 117 episodes.
11Has a masters in Law from the University of London, but took a different career path when bitten by the acting bug.

Adewale Rotimi O. C. E. Akinnuoye Agbaje Quotes

1The only way I know how to deliver is to focus; some people can turn it on or off - I'd rather stay in character. There was no socializing. I would start two hours before I went to the set and I wouldn't say any other words other than the ones that I needed to say, that's just the way I work and I think that intensity comes across in my characters. -on his "method acting" style, which has sometimes allegedly caused resentment on sets
2When a star character on a hit show chooses to leave there's always speculation as to whether or not they've done this or that or not gotten along with this or that person. Straight up: it was probably one of the best relationships I've ever had in terms of developing a character, and I think the character will be a testament to that. -on working on Lost (2004)
3They gave me a stick and said, 'Knock those three guys out.' There's no better way to make an entrance. - when asked if he was made to feel like the "new kid on the block" when joining Lost
4I kind of feel for the people on the show who are just coming into the business and this is their first gig. They've got a big letdown coming." - on his younger cast mates on "Lost
5The only way you can influence your fate is to put your soul into your performance and hope it registers with the audience.
6I've never been really great at trusting anybody, just because of the way I grew up. I was always led to believe you should take care of yourself, trust in your abilities and you're the author of your own destiny. Coming to this show is the opposite." - talking about "Lost
